Time to Move On?

I hate giving up on a player. I always fear he'll blossom into a superstar somewhere else, leaving one kicking and screaming for being such an idiot! I am at this point with Vince Young. Word is that Jeff Fisher wants Kerry Collins back as his starting QB in '09. OK. Fine. Bring back Chris Simms as well since he fits the Collins mode and has started nearly as many games as Young. But then Young has to go. Don't let this drag out. Don't let him be a distraction. Don't keep wondering, "I wonder what VY could do?" Turn the page, package him up, get what you can get for him...The reality is, if Jeff Fisher and Mike Hiemerdinger really do want Kerry back as the starter next season, they've already turned the page on Vince.
Now back to my original concern. Who are the top QBs in the game today? Manning (both), Brady, Big Ben, Rivers, McNabb, Romo(?); all with there original team. Then the Young Guns, Flacco, Ryan, Cutler. The fact is, guys just don't get traded and work out somewhere else. A few have good years; Rich Gannon, Randall Cunningham. Some fall through the cracks; Brett Favre in Atlanta...but keep in mind he never played there. It's time to make a move....

I think you are not asking the right question. If the offense will always be this conservative like it is now where ou have no big play potential outside of CJ busting one the move on from Vince Young. What I saw from our Titans though was a completely inability to score to score when adversity struck over and over, which means your offense much have either precision which with three turnovers against Baltimore and let's face it, that was the only gam ein the season that mattered, you can not say they had or the ability to overcome such adversity in an offense with playmakers. This offense without Vince is devoid of playmakers(except CJ) and can easily beat mediocre teams but against good teams they will struggle. Vince is not the second coming even another year under Kerry would do him some good, but he must be thrown back in at times and groomed in a system that can overlook turnovers knowing that he can bounce back and make plays that score points. VY can be the quarterback everyone desires but he must havea system to fit him not be thrust into a system that fits someone else. I feel like if McNair can run Dingers offense so can Vince, just give him etime to mature and room to screw up and learn. Everyone is more than willing to let Kerry screw up why?

I am really concerned about the Titans & this decision. I think most would agree that our schedule played big role in our 13-3 record. We are a team with a great defense and a mediocre offense, and that won't cut against a 1st place schedule. Great teams look to make the necessary changes to take them to the next level. It is obvious that on of weekest positions was the QB position. To just say that Kerry Collins is your undisputed starter, is like saying that just making the play-offs is good enough. We will never win a Super Bowl with Collins at the reigns. I'm not saying we shouldn't bring him back, but in my opinion he has not earned the right to be named the starter without competition. And if he doesn't wan't to come back if he isn't the starter then let him go. Good players don't need to make those statements and good players welcome competition. It's not as if he threw for 20+ td's and led a dynamic offense. I just hope Fisher doesn't explore options before making this move. If this is the move, it will make for a very unexciting off season.
