Didn't see that comin'!!!!

On Friday morning, I learned that Cumulus-Nashville had made the decision to flip the fan to all network programming. The reason given was tough economic times. These were issues that were much larger just my corner of the building. The show had done very well financially, and was awarded AIR Awards for Best Afternoon Drive show and Best Talk Host in the market. Alas, a corporate move was made and many good people in the building were left scrambling. Luckily, I have been blessed with a ton of support in the market and the region and, God willing, we'll be locked and loaded sooner than you think. Please check back on Monday for exciting news of where the show will land, and how you can jump back into the DOGHOUSE. In the meantime, feel free to contact me at thom@thomabraham.com. Now, I believe the Junkyard Babe is calling my name! See you all soon!

Unbelievable Thom. Cumulus has royally screwed up. They have canceled bad shows in the past, but yours doesn't deserve to be in their company. You brought a fresh voice and attitude to Nashville's drive home, and I appreciate every minute of it. I know that you'll land on your feet somewhere, and I just hope I'm close enough to hear it. Best of luck Brother . . .

Damn!

I knew you were too good for this town. There are a lot of channel muckedy mucks and politicians in this town that just don't have a clue. They perpetuate the stereotype of southerners being stupid. Hope we can hear you on our LOCAL air soon, if not I'll still look forward to hearing you on a national level.

Thanks for the great work.

Well I am glad to hear that you and your family is healthy. I had thought the worse. The last thing I expected was the show getting cut. That is crazy. This market needs you Thom, please don't leave us with alone Jorge Drywall.

Guess I will have to go back to the bozo's at 104 until I find out where you end up. Thanks for the good times while they lasted.

WOW!!

What a shock to flip on the radio & not here you today. Cumulus has made a huge mistake. I moved here about a year & a half ago & have enjoyed your show ever since. I can only hope you'll continue to be part of the Nashville scene & get back on the radio in this area. Good luck...I'm sure you'll land on your feet & for our sake I hope it's on Nashville radio.

I'm with the others on here - sad to see you leave where the show was established, but great things can come from adverse circumstances. Keep at it, and I know we'll see you sometime soon.

As a radio host across town, I feel your pain. You do all that's expected of you (ratings, revenue, etc) and they still pull the plug. I feared the same for myself. Our industry is increasingly run by short sighted fools who don' have the long term growth of our industry at heart.

You are an excellent talent, and a welcome alternative in he afternoon. Good content trumps all. And you are good content. You'll always be in demand. Hang in there.

You just don't know how relieved I am to know that you will still be on the Nashville airwaves! I went a little nuts tonight on the drive home fiddling with my radio dial trying to find something worth listening to. Cumulus totally blew this one.

Glad to know you will still be in the area. Mid-day on AM is going to be tough for me to get used to. And competition from Rome - whew, that's tough. But I do wish you well. I think the fan isn't long period personally. Doug Gotleib, Eric Kuselias, Mike & Mike, Van Pelt. Please. They're all the same. And all boring as hell. May the big dawg continue to growl.

I got three phone calls on my way home from work. All of them said WHERE IS THE BIG DOG I introduced several people to the best show on radio and now its gone. This is bad news for Cumulus, they do not know the pulse of Nashville. I will find your show again and support its sponsors. Thanks Rob Warner

Hate to see you go, Thom. You had a funny, informative program that was great for the drive home. As others have said, it was a bad idea for 106.7 to let you go. ESPN network is for the birds and their ratings will soon show it. Glad to hear you've landed on your feet, however.

My ride home has been soooooo boring. I love your show. I've never called in but I've been tempted. Anyway, enjoy your time off & we'll hear you Monday. God Bless you and your family.

I am bummed you will not be in afternoon drive anymore, but I am happy that you landed local. Too bad I will not be able to listen to you anymore. Best wishes and God Bless.

Well, At least now I have someone to listen to other than Tirico and Van Pelt. The only decent shows on The Fan were you, Mike and Mike, and The Herd and they lost 33% of that.

Also, The commercial voices they replaced you for slightly frighten me.

Now the only show worth listening to on 106.7 is Mike and Mike and maybe the football show. I'll be listening to you in the afternoon

Thom...did Plaster buy the station and close you down? I can't get 560 in Franklin...I will NOT listen to Plaster. He is such a boor.
Oh well bro. 106.7 can't be trusted...they'll be an oldies station in a few more months

Hey can you give any hints whether Jeff Diamond will be joining you on the new network? I liked his insider knowledge of football people and the Titans in particular. I don't think he could carry a show by himself for 3 hours (that's where you are the better radio personality), but he was great as a second voice for 1 hour.

The real loser hear is Nashville sports talk. The Big Dog will be fine, but now the Nashville commuters are faced with little choice in afternoon sports talk. This city leads the South in many things but sports talk is definitely not one of them.

Now I have to listen to Doug Gottlieb talk about the NBA...Maybe I'll see what's on NPR.
